Geographic webmaster tool can be used to restrict the appearance of your website in particular region only. For example, if your website is targeted to the users from Canada, then you can set in the Geographic target tool in Google webmaster center to show your website in Canada only. This can improve the country-specific search results.
It is completely a new feature in Google Webmaster tools and therefore many webmasters may have trouble in installing the tool in their website or save the setting of the Geographic target tool. For easy reference of the webmasters, I include the video of the Webmaster trends Analyst Susan Moskwa explaining how the tool works:
Google support center clearly explains how to make the setting of the Geographic Target tool in the webmaster tool center of Google account. You can find Google’s Support and now you can start promoting your websites in specific regions only. And if you are promoting your websites through Google Adwords, then you can save your budget and can get quality score.
Another SEO test with expired domains

Recently I performed SEO test on directory submission and promotion of website without investing even a penny. I succeed in promoting the promotion of my new proxy site by directory submission in free directories and now my new proxy site is in the second position of Google search with keywords “new proxy” and “new proxies”. It is one of my greatest achievements in SEO test.
Now I am trying to develop another idea with expired and old domain names. I found many webmasters running after the expired domain names but I am trying to find out some interesting results with the expired domain name test. Many webmasters buy expired domain name to get the traffic of the old websites and some other bloggers buy expired domain name to start earning immediately.
But many controversial questions arise while buying expired domain names. Will the PR of expired domain retain in the next PR update? Will Google indexes the pages of new website with expired domain name? Well I bought two domain names and building two blogs: The-RyoWeb - SEO Experts and Resource for different Cables. These are the two blogs and I am writing about cable in Resource for different cables blog keeping the contents of the blog same as the old website. And the content of The-RyoWeb SEO Experts has been changed to SEO tips and articles. I am finding out whether the Page Rank of the expired domain retain even after the Google PR update if the contents are retained or if the contents are changed.

I have been writing many interesting articles about Google and also I have been experimenting over many stuffs of Google like Google’s new algorithm of Page Rank. But unluckily I have been missing something and that is nothing but About Google page. I haven’t noticed the About Google page of the Google before and I discovered yesterday only. I know it is so weird but I thought that it is not so important to read the About page of Google because everyone knows what Google is.
It is not a big deal that I lately noticed the About page of Google but it is just a big surprise that how could I miss it when I have been writing, discussing and criticizing about many stuffs of Google. I just post this article thinking that many people must be missing the About page of Google may be because they do not give importance about the About page of Google or they are just careless. But it is very important to know the About Google page if you want to know the Google deeply and thoroughly.
In the About Google page, you will find the all the free services provided by Google and also the advertising information in Google. There may be many new things of Google that you haven’t noticed or explored but if you visit the About Google page, then you surely you will find some clues to explore more stuffs about Google. Things like Google Store, Investor Relations and some other services of Google are disclosed on that day only.
Starting a new blog network

Sometimes I just want to let the people know what I am doing right now! Well, I am starting a blog network. This is the first project of its kind in my life and I just started the project to gain knowledge and not for any profit. Recently I did some research on blog network and this idea of starting a niche blog network came in my mind during the research.
I was just comparing the niche blog network and blog network of diverse blog topics. Many of you must have aware of the fact that niche blog network is far better than the blog network of diverse blog topics. Well, I am starting a blog network on SEO (search engine optimization). In the last few months, I didn’t perform any kind of link building as Google nowadays give less importance to the backlinks. But I now realize that link building is very important and one should continue building natural links and it is not about Google but it is about your website.
A blogging network is completely different from the blog network and don’t misinterpret my project. A blogging network is a network which connects bloggers with the advertisers. But in blog network, it is just a collection of blogs which may be of same niche or different niche. But I am starting a blog network of same niche. I will update the progress of my blog network regularly.
Prevent hacking of your websites

Hacking is a very common problem of most of the webmasters and if you want to protect your websites and WebPages from being hacked by a third party. Recently I read a post from Official Google webmaster blog about the online security of the website. There are some tips that you can use to control the hacking of your websites. If you are using some scripts or software in your websites, then you must regularly update the script or software to the latest version. You must find the out the pages which are being indexed by the search engines with the help of Google Webmaster Tools.
If you find that some of the highly secure WebPages are being indexed by the search engine, then you can fix the problem by using the Google robot.txt generator. Now you can generate the Robot.txt file automatically by using the Google Webmaster Tools. It will help to prevent the access of those WebPages which need extra security by using the Robot text file.
There are many Official Google Blogs and I came across one blog which is dedicated to the online security of the websites. Google Online Security Blog writes much important stuff about online security and tips to prevent them. Most of the hacked pages are affected by the malware and other spyware. If you website get hacked due to some hole or way to access, then you must fix the problem by keeping your website offline temporarily. Or you can do the same thing by using 503 status code or URL removal tool.
A conflict between Alexa and Google Analytics

Both Alexa and Google Analytics are used to analyze the traffic and the visitors of a website. You will find the percentage of visitors from different countries in the website. But recently I notice a conflict between the two web tools. Recently I developed a new proxy and I found two different results when I analyze the traffic of the new proxy site. In the Alexa, it is showing that India shares about 71% of the total visitors in my new website and United States shares only 13.2% of the total visitors. The traffic analysis of Alexa tool is given below:
In case of Google analytics, about 60% of the total traffics are US origin and only 14% of the total visitors are from India. The two results are completely opposite but both the two tools are well known for analysis of visitors in the website. One question arises about the issue: Whether Alexa is more accurate or Google Analytics? The report of Google analytics is given below:
In my opinion, Google Analytics is giving more accurate result because the target of my website is US not India and therefore obviously there will be more visitors from US. And also the percentage of using proxy is more in US than India. The conflict arises because Alexa updates the database of users come from different countries very slowly and they give importance in the Traffic rank of the website not the demography. But Google updates the visitors from different countries regularly and therefore it gives more accurate result in this regard. Also Alexa is meant for traffic ranking and Google Analytics for analysis of the traffic.
